Abstract
Pinnacle, a low cost, single chip memory controller, which uses Memory Expansion Technology (MXT), was described. The Pinnacle chip included certain features, with appropriate logging and programmable interrupt control. Some of the features were shared-cache error correcting code; free sector list parity checking; sector-out-of-range checking; and compressed-memory cyclic-redundancy-code protection.
