Phase separation in fluid systems by spinodal decomposition. II. A molecular dynamics computer simulation
Abstract
Spinodal decomposition is observed in a simulated Lennard-Jones fluid using molecular dynamics, and the results are in agreement with the predictions of a recent microscopic theory. An initial exponential growth of supercritical density fluctuations is found and supports the linear approximation of the generalized diffusion equation for the initial phase separation. © 1978 American Institute of Physics.
