PERFORMANCE IN DISTRIBUTED DATABASE SYSTEMS.
Abstract
The performance issue in a distributed database system covers such a wide range of components in the system that much too often the optimization or search for optimization of a very specific component will not lead to significant increase of the overall performance. This report tries to classify the major components where optimization may be enforced and summarizes the actual results in the area.
