One-electron analysis of optical data in copper
Abstract
Calculations of the interband absorption ε2(ω) and the energy distribution of photoemitted electrons D(E,ω) for copper have been performed with sufficient precision to test the adequacy of the direct transition theory and the effective one-electron potential due to Chodorow. Agreement with experiment is good with no ad hoc adjustments and excellent when the d phase shift is increased slightly for energies above EF. The calculations support recent experimental estimates of the L gap. © 1972 The American Physical Society.
