Methylthioformaldine. A New Formaldehyde Anion Equivalent
Abstract
Lithium methylthioformaldine, a new formaldehyde anion equivalent, is easily generated and reacts rapidly with primary and secondary halides as well as carbonyl compounds; its hydrolysis to an aldehyde occurs under extremely mild conditions and in high yield. © 1977, American Chemical Society.
