Maintaining a legal status for filmless archived digital medical images
Abstract
A method of a formal and convincing authentication mechanism that will allow medical images handling in their digital form, using PACS, while playing into the film path only when deem necessary by law is introduced. Use of the method permits medical facilities to save on expensive film production for the sake of moving into the PACS era and beyond.
