Magneto-Optical Measurement of Interactions in Thin-Film Media

Abstract

A magneto-optical method for measuring interactions in thin-film recording media has been developed. The technique is non-destructive and yields spatial interaction measurements on full disks that correlate with recording noise. The experimental results show excellent agreement between the new magneto-optical method and time-intensive, destructive vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) methods. © 1992 IEEE
