Magnetic domains in (Gd_0.5Y_2.5)(Ga₁Fe ₄)O₁₂ garnet films

We present a model which explains the behavior of the magnetization and the resultant stripe domain patterns in thin films of (Gd0.5Y 2.5) (Ga1Fe4)O12 grown by liquid-phase epitaxy on [111]-oriented GGG substrates under the influence of dc or pulsed in-plane magnetic fields.
