One of the most notable founders and pioneers of industrial design in the US is Henry Dreyfuss. His design factors are still considered today such as attention to areas including utility and safety, ease of maintenance, cost, sales appeal and appearance. His designs can be seen in a wide variety of products, from airplane interiors to writing instruments and thermometer dials. Such design criteria are used in creating products, writing software, constructing buildings and even the delivery of services.
