INTERNAL STATE DISTRIBUTIONS OF MOLECULES SCATTERING AND DESORBING FROM SURFACES.
Abstract
In discussing the inelastic scattering of molecules from surfaces it is important to make a distinction between direct inelastic scattering and inelastic scattering which results from trapping followed by desorption. Results will be presented for both channels but emphasis will be placed on direct inelastic scattering because in some sense this process is the simpler of the two and is more directly interpretable.
