Interdiffusion and exchange bias in the MnxPt1-x/Co system
Abstract
A study was performed on interdiffusion and exchange bias in the MnxPt1-x/Co system. The antiferromagnetic/ferromagnetic bilayers were grown through dc magnetron sputtering at room temperature on silicon(111) substrates. X-ray reflectivity showed that an interdifffusion region existed at the MnPt/Co interface. It was found that an increase in interdiffusion resulted in lower exchange bias.
