Abstract

The functional capabilities of the System/88 make it equally suited to meet the needs for High Availability in all of the five customer application environments shown. But in addition to the hardware fault tolerance, and the support for convenient application development and transaction processing, comprehensive and versatile communication capabilities and connectivity are needed for the System/88, to achieve the goal of bringing High Availability to wherever this is needed in a complex processor and application network.
