Graphene photonics, plasmonics, and optoelectronics
Abstract
We review the characteristics of the optical excitations of graphene involving interband, intraband, and collective (plasmon) electronic excitations. We then discuss the different mechanisms by which photon energy can be converted to an electrical current in graphene. Finally, we review applications of graphene as transparent conductive screens, as photodetectors and light modulators at different wavelength ranges. © 2013 IEEE.
