Factors which control exciplex formation in the 1,3-photoaddition reaction of anisole with olefins
Abstract
Quantitative data on the photochemical 1,3-addition of anisole to a number of olefins over a range of concentrations of the latter are reported. The reaction which is believed to proceed via an exciplex intermediate is shown to be influenced by steric considerations and, perhaps, by the ionization potential of the olefin. © 1976.
