Evaluation of Light Sources for TDI Polysilicon Electrode CCD Document Scanners
Abstract
The use of blue or green fluorescent lamps for illuminators in front illuminated polysilicon electrode charge-coupled device (CCD) document scanners operated in the time delay and integration (TDI) mode overcomes the low blue responsivity of this device. A simple method is presented to compare quantitatively the response of this scanner with that of the human eye. Copyright © 1981 by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.
