Distance learning in China
Abstract
The development processes and activities related to distance learning in China are discussed. Motivation of distance learning students in China is based on receiving a high-level degree, especially for those who lost the chance to receive education. The cost of distance learning is high, as compared to traditional TV-based broadcasting for learning and self study, and most universities look for support from industry investments or donations. Distance learning requires a higher development cost, which can be transferred to students and with rapid development of China's economy, distance learning is considered to become more popular.
