Dielectric response of semiconducting carbon nanotubes
Abstract
The study of the dielectric response of semiconducting carbon nanotubes was done within a tight-binding theory. The structure of zigzag tubes was investigated and it was found that the induced charge exhibited large oscillations within the unit cell. The dielectric constant of the undoped tubes was shown to be 1.
