Abstract

Gas sensors have attracted a lot of attention for real-time, low-cost, detection and measurement of gas concentrations for both understanding and monitoring a variety of gas phenomena, from industrial processes to environmental change. Various types of gas sensors are available in the market, still the sensing of multiple pollutants and the data analysis quality is often not promising. The Quartz enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS) is an alternative technique [1], utilizing a quartz tuning fork (QTF) for highly sensitive detection of trace gases in small volume by enhancing weak photoacoustic signals. For realizing real time multiple gas sensing, it is ideal to have on-chip high power optical combiners without altering the existing physical infrastructure of the sensing region.
