Crystal growth and characterization of "striation-free" KTa1-xNbxO3 (x ≈ 0.26) solid solutions
Abstract
Crystals of KTa1-xNbxO3 with x ≈ 0.26 free of observable striations have been grown for the first time. No striations could be detected, either by electron-microprobe measurements or strain-birefringence observation in the polarizing microscope. This homogeneity was achieved by forced convection (accelerated crucible rotation technique), in contrast to the general approach of reduced convection. © 1983.
