COSAR: Commitment-oriented "sense and respond" system for microelectronic manufacturing
Abstract
Microelectronic manufacturing is a discipline of supply chain management, and deals with the efficient coordination of manufacturing processes and owning enterprise along a value chine to provide products to customers. The systems for microelectronic manufacturing processes are usually linear, rigid and producing solutions that are far from optimal. This paper presents a commitment-oriented "sense and respond" system, called COSAR, for microelectronic manufacturing. COSAR enables the development of adaptive and configurable manufacturing systems. We will explain both the concept of commitment and also the foundation and architecture of COSAR.
