Correlation between magnetic splitting and magnetic moment for 3d transition metals
Abstract
The exchange splitting of the 3d states near the Fermi level is found to be approximately proportional to the local magnetic moment in 3d transition metals, with a proportionality constant of 1 eV μB. This correlation is found from available experimental results and local density calculations. It holds not only for ferromagnets, but also for antiferromagnets, spin glasses, and for the free atoms. © 1991.
