COMPCON PANEL: THE RISC VS. CISC DEBATE.

Abstract

This panel session considers the debate over reduced instruction set computers (RISC). One panelist argues that RISC is a poor idea for commercial microprocessors. Another discusses RISC features in a variety of contexts and then comments on the issues raised with respect to other architectures in common use.
