Bragg diffraction beam splitter for thin film optical guided waves
Abstract
A "thin" grating fabricated holographically on the surface of a thin film optical waveguide serves as a Bragg diffractor for waves propagating in the film. Measurements of the intensity profiles of the beams on either side of such a Bragg diffraction beam splitter are described. The generation of multiple beams by cascaded beam splitters is also demonstrated. © 1971.
