Beam-plasma electrodynamics

Charged-particle beams in dense plasmas are electrically self-focused for β2 < 1 2 and magnetically self-focused for β2 > 1 2. Rapidly varying intense cold beams in plasmas produce strong coherent electric oscillations due to the addition of Bohr-wake fields. © 1981.
