An integrated simulation framework for water environment management
Abstract
Integrated water environment management requires that the existing water quality models can be consumable in a seamless way. This paper discusses model integration and computation technology to improve water quality model's consumability. An integrated simulation framework is proposed to contain the heterogeneous models for a uniformed interface to end users. From computational efficiency perspective, a high-efficiency model calibration engine based on parallel computing is discussed. A prototype based on this framework has been developed and a case study is provided. The water quality simulation platform based on this framework can enable decision makers to flexibly switch water quality models according to business purposes. © 2010 IEEE.
