An Electrochemically Sealed Al2O3 Passivation Layer for Aluminum Alloys
Abstract
An anodization process combined with an electrochemical sealing technique provided dramatic improvement in the corrosion resistance of 5086 Al alloy. The surface quality of the oxide depends on the density and distribution of alloying elements and impurities. © 1982, The Electrochemical Society, Inc. All rights reserved.
