An efficient approach to real-time sky simulation
Abstract
Real-Time sky rendering plays a great role on visualization in many 3D applications. It is difficult to simulate a realistic sky without considering the effect of clouds and the scattering effect of the atmosphere. In this paper, we use a physical scattering model to simulate the sky, and a Perlin Noise texture to create highly realistic clouds. Different effects of the sky are also generated by combining the lighting model with various atmospheric constituents. © 2007 IEEE.
