A multi-modulation low-power FCC/EC-compliant IR-UWB RF transmitter in 0.18-μm CMOS
Abstract
A multi-modulation RF transmitter IC intended for Impulse-Radio UWB is presented. The modulation rates extend up to 10Mpulses/s for BFSK, 500Mchips/s for shaped BPSK bursts and 1Gchips/s for unshaped BPSK bursts. This PLL-based TX achieves a power consumption of 81pJ/chip. The generated RF signals have spurious-free power spectral densities (PSD) and comply with U.S. and European regulations. © 2009 IEEE.
