Abstract
We have presented a system concept for digital signal processing, in which an attempt is made to separate the processing into two phases, one that requires relatively simple and high speed number crunching, and the other that requires more sophisticated general purpose processing capability and is done at a relatively low rate. To take care of the arithmetic part we present a signal processing subsystem that is highly geared to executing signal processing algorithms at high speed efficiently. The intelligent processing part can be performed by readily available microprocessors with existing software development tools.
