25Gbit/s transimpedance amplifier in 0.13m CMOS
Abstract
A transimpedance amplifier fabricated in a 0.13m CMOS process that operates at bit rates up to 25Gbit/s with a power consumption of 0.36mW/Gbit/s is reported. The amplifier provides 42dBΩ of transimpedance gain over a 15GHz bandwidth and exhibits a bit-error-ratio of less than 10 -12 for peak-to-peak input currents of 225 and 425A at 20 and 25Gbit/s, respectively. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2006.
