1/F noise in saturated GMR heads
Abstract
The properties of the non-magnetic part of the extra-low-frequency noise of shielded giant magnetoresistance (GMR) heads, including 1/f noise and random telegraph noise (RTN), were studied. Noise spectra were measured under saturation fields at normal operation sense current after successive pulses. Resistance exponentially increased with the cumulative number of pulses. While the resistance changed as much as 40%, the noise spectra did not show any significant change.
