Bio

Jason Silbergleit is the Vice President for IBM Research Business Development and Quantum Sales. In this role he leads a global team responsible for scouting, incubating, and executing Hybrid Cloud and AI research technology engagements with commercial enterprises. These engagements can include licensing of existing research technologies as well as joint development of new capabilities. In addition, Jason leads the global IBM Quantum sales team responsible for enabling IBM client’s access to the world’s most advanced quantum computing platform and skills.

Jason and his team support over 3,000 researchers across the global IBM Research organization who contribute substantially to IBM’s innovation and organic growth. The offering portfolio includes Artificial Intelligence, Hybrid Cloud, and Quantum. Jason and his team have structured several important initiatives, including by way of example the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab and the IBM-Cleveland Clinic Discovery Accelerator along with many industry collaborations.

Jason joined IBM in the Microelectronics Division in 1996 and spent his early years in various engineering, operations, and management roles prior to joining the IBM’s Intellectual Property and Research organizations with responsibilities for technology business development and quantum sales. Jason received his B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, and his M.B.A from University of Vermont. Jason also serves as an executive sponsor for the Neurodiversity@IBM Program.
