General directions

A taxi from Zürich airport takes 30 to 40 minutes and costs approximately CHF 100 (CHF 50 from downtown Zürich). It is considerably less expensive (approx. CHF 10 to 16) and potentially faster by train. Bus 165 from Zürich Bürkliplatz takes you almost to the door of the IBM Research Europe – Zürich site in Rüschlikon (stop "Säumerstrasse"), more details below.

Public transportation

Public transportation The closest train station is Rüschlikon Bahnhof, where the train lines S8 and S24 stop. Thalwil station is also close to the lab and has additional train connections to the city of Zurich, the airport, and other parts of Switzerland.

The closest bus stop is Rüschlikon, Säumerstrasse. Bus line 165 takes you to the nearest train station or downtown Zürich.

Driving directions

The exit “Thalwil/Rüschlikon/Adliswil”on the freeway A3 (for example coming southbound from the airport or downtown Zürich) is located only about a mile from the lab.

Please be aware that cars need a toll sticker (vignette) to use Swiss motorways (including A3). An e-vignette can be purchased online here.

Visitor parking, including charging stations for electric cars, is located right next to the main entrance/reception on Säumerstrasse.
